Apartment Building Enterphones Pose Security Risk

Building owners and strata councils need to take a hard serious look at their enterphone systems.

Filling:If you prefer a very thin Pillow, Down or synthetic Down would work fairly well for you. If you prefer a supportive pillow, memory foam or latex would suit you well. Memory foam will react to your heat and the weight of your head and slowly conform around your head and neck to provide great support. Latex pillows are more bouncy than memory foam and bounce back faster. If you move around a lot, a latex pillow would be better for you than memory foam. Memory foam normally takes 30 to 60 seconds to go back to its natural shape and moving during that period could force you to wake up.We must first address the other half of the problem, the enterphone panel itself. The Bottom Line:Responsibility must lie with the occupant who lets people into the building without verifying who they are.Firmness:Exceptional voice quality is a must. I have been to many buildings where these panels are old and worn out. If you can't understand what the person is saying at either end of the phone, it's time to install a new system. How can you possibly converse with somebody if you don't know who you are speaking to? Assuming it's your repair man, isn't a good enough reason for letting him or her into the building. A new system would supply advanced technology and superior quality components that would result in conversations that sound perfectly natural, allowing tenants to identify the voice of the person they know. Our first surprise came when we moved the refrigerator from its current location. The refrigerator sat up on a platform about 1 inch off the kitchen floor. We never gave it much thought and assumed that it had always been like that. When I move the refrigerator and lifted up the old flooring, I discovered why. Plumbing from the sink did not go through the floor to join a drain pipe in the basement. It did, however, run across the floor and under the refrigerator. This required some major engineering to move the drain line for the new sink and dishwasher.

If you are contemplating a new enterphone system, consider a built-in, small, covert (hidden) camera. These cameras allow you to identify visitors before granting access by using a dedicated TV channel or videophone. This also helps security personnel or managers to monitor entrance areas and reduce unauthorized entry, vandalism or loitering.
